Terms of use

Last updated: 26 March 2026

1. Purpose

These terms of use (the "Terms") define the terms and conditions under which Obstacle Studio (the "Publisher") provides its online show jumping course design service, available at obstaclestudio.app (the "Service").

Using the Service implies full acceptance of these Terms.

2. Access to the Service

The Service is available free of charge to any user with internet access and a compatible web browser. Basic features (course creation, obstacle placement, stride calculation and PDF export) are available without registration.

Some advanced features (cloud storage, loading courses, JSON export/import and custom arenas) require a Premium subscription.

The Publisher reserves the right to suspend, modify or interrupt access to the Service at any time, particularly for maintenance, updates or force majeure, without any entitlement to compensation.

3. User account

Access to Premium features requires a user account. Users can register through Google, Sign in with Apple or an email sign-in link.

Users agree to provide accurate, up-to-date information. They are responsible for keeping their sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through their account.

In the event of unauthorised use of their account, users must immediately notify the Publisher at support@obstaclestudio.app.

4. Subscriptions and payments

The Service offers two Premium subscription plans:

  • Weekly pass: €15 for 7 days of access (one-off payment, no automatic renewal).
  • Annual subscription: €149 per year (automatic renewal, cancellable at any time).

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. The Publisher does not store any banking details.

The annual subscription can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, including its source code, graphical interface, visual elements and text, is the exclusive property of the Publisher and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Courses created by users remain their property. Users grant the Publisher a limited licence to store and display this content as part of operating the Service.

6. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in our Privacy policy.

7. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". The Publisher strives to ensure its availability and proper operation, but cannot be held liable for:

  • Temporary interruptions to the Service for maintenance or updates.
  • Data loss resulting from improper use or force majeure.
  • Indirect damage resulting from using or being unable to use the Service.

Users are solely responsible for their use of the Service and the courses they design.

8. Changes to the Terms

The Publisher reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Users will be informed of any substantial changes. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

9. Applicable law

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will endeavour to reach an amicable solution. Failing this, jurisdiction lies with the courts for the area of the Publisher's registered office.
